Look Up for Adam
Look Up for Adam was created by the Nuszen family after their son, Adam lost his battle with addiction in 2015. It is their mission to raise awareness and support families who are coping with the life altering effects of addiction. Their Beading Hearts group is a bereavement group that combines support with creating healing and uplifting beaded messages for other families who have lost a loved one to addiction. This group has had a powerful impact on the residents in our recovery housing programs!
Jason has been practicing yoga for about 15 years and first found his love of yoga while travelling for a career and living on the road for 5 years. Constantly living out of a suitcase and being in foreign cities he was searching for a way to incorporate exercise, relaxation and stress relief into a demanding schedule. Jason began his yoga practice by watching DVDs in hotel rooms and visiting new studios whenever possible. He believes that yoga finds the person (not the person finds yoga) and when an individual is ready they will be drawn to the mat.
He received his 200 hour Yoga Alliance Certification in June of 2009 from an Ashtanga based studio on Long Island. He is also a Y12SR leader and teaches meditation. A Typical class consists of yoga philosophy, storytelling, asana and a little laughter.
Jason also taught yoga to children with developmental, behavioral and neurological challenges for four years. Through yoga instruction and games, He helped provide children with skills they can use in their everyday lives such as improved concentration and focus, the ability to transition from one activity to another and coping or self-soothing techniques.
Jason recently obtained an Advanced Certificate in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and has a Master’s Degree in School Counseling. He is also a Certified Professional Stunt Performer.
